Single Touch Payroll

In March we will write to 150,000 employers to remind them they may need to start reporting using a Single Touch Payroll-enabled solution from 1 July 2018. Some of these employers may be your clients.

We are letting them know:

they may need to contact their digital service provider to see if their software will be ready
to contact you or their digital service provider if they need help
where to find information on Single Touch Payroll.
We know some digital service providers won't be ready and have applied for deferrals that will cover their clients up to a revised start date.

You can find more detailed information to help answer questions from your clients on our Your obligations under Single Touch Payroll page. This includes:

how an employer's reporting obligations will change
what employers will need to report
how to transition to Single Touch Payroll on 1 July, or at a later date
how to finalise a report, and exemptions from providing payment summaries
how to make corrections to a report.
